Riratte (リラッテ, Riratte) was the mother of Asirpa and the wife of Wilk. She died of illness after giving birth to her daughter.
Appearance[]
Riratte was a beautiful Ainu woman who closely resembled her daughter Asirpa. She had dark hair that reached her shoulders, big bright eyes, and a cheerful smile. Riratte had a traditional mouth tattoo that Ainu women received after reaching adolescence.
Riratte wore an attus, a rekutunpe necklace, and a matanpushi headband. She used to wear ninkari earrings, which her daughter received as heirloom after her death.
Personality[]
Little is known about Riratte's personality. However, Wilk described her as "cheerful and bright, like a clear, sunny day". Judging by the film Girel and Katsutarou Inaba shot, Riratte was an energetic and expressive woman with a childish side to her character. She enjoyed playing with kids in the kotan and knew how to use a bow.
Background[]
Riratte was the daughter of Huci and her husband, who was also the chief of their Ainu kotan. Riratte married Wilk and later they had a daughter together, who they named Asirpa. However, soon after giving birth to her daughter, Riratte got sick and died of illness.
