Summary

Retara appears to save Asirpa and wounds the soldier's leg and he loses his conciousness. Sugimoto finds Asirpa and Retara flees. She discovers that Sugimoto brings a baby bear and Sugimoto fears that she will eat the cub but she says that they will take him to her village.
Arriving at the Ainu village Sugimoto feels uncomfortable but he is received by the villagers and by the Asirpa's maternal grandmother warmly. On the other hand, the soldier who was attacked by Retara survives and because he was defeated, wanting to hunt the wolf.
