The Things About My Father That I Didn't Know, or The Father I Never Knew (私の知らない父のこと, Watashi no Shiranai Chichi no Koto) is the 182nd chapter of the Golden Kamuy manga.
Synopsis[]
Asirpa's Group is stunned by Sofia suddenly slapping Kiroranke and Kiroranke silently stares back at Sofia before she turns around to leave. Meanwhile, as the inmates of Akou Prison makes their escape, the prison guards attempts to shoot them down, however, they only see groups of Nivkh fishermen out on the ice.
With their plan a success, Asirpa's Group and Sofia walks across the ice and Asirpa asks Sofia about her father. Kiroranke translates for Sofia as she describes her upbringing and the first time she met both Wilk and Kiroranke. Wilk had taught Sofia a lot about the Karafuto Ainu culture and that if they do not fight to protect them, then they will be lost forever and as a result, the children born in the future will forget their languages and their gods.
Wilk lamented that the indigenous people of America lost their way of living to the white men because they had been in constant conflict with each other. However, he had heard that in Hokkaido, Japan, there are groups with cultures that are very similar to the Karafuto Ainu and expresses his dream of creating a far eastern federation that would include both Karafuto and Hokkaido.
Sugimoto's Group arrives at Akou Prison, but finds that they are too late as Asirpa's Group has already left, so Sugimoto has Ryu look for Asirpa's scent. Suddenly, Cikapasi and Enonoka screams, drawing Sugimoto's Group's attention to a tiger that had emerged from the hole in the walls of the prison. Tsukishima and Tanigaki shoots at the tiger, managing to scare it away. The sound of the gunfires reaches Ogata's ear as he looks back, in disbelief as to who the gunshots belonged to.
