Golden Kamuy Wiki:Policy

There are very few policies which apply across all Wikia. These can be found on the Central Wikia at Wikia:Category:Policy.

Other policies for this Wikia should be decided by the wiki community. It's generally best to keep policies as simple as possible, and not to introduce too many rules. A growing wiki can usually do well with a few simple policies and a lot of goodwill and cooperation.

Golden Kamuy manga and anime contain scenes of death, graphic violence, animal cruelty, nudity, strong language, adult themes. The Golden Kamuy Wiki requests you to be mindful of those themes and be aware that some pages might include disturbing images or descriptions.

Spoiler Policy

As the manga is approaching its final chapters, this Wiki is to implement a spoiler policy concerning the fates of characters of the series.

This policy foremost refers to the main characters and major characters who were alive at the moment of Golden Kamuy Season 3 anime finale (like Hijikata, Sofia, Vasily). This policy will be gradually lifted once the anime progresses further.

1. General character information like profiles, personality, is to be written in the present tense, even if the character is deceased.

2. Group naviboxes no longer include information about the character's status.

Specific Policies of Golden Kamuy Wiki

The following is a guide to creating or editing pages at Golden Kamuy Wiki in accordance with the established article style. These guidelines are not set in stone, but they should generally be followed in order to maintain consistency across pages, unless there is a good reason to make an exception. The policies are subject to change according to the needs and decisions of community and administrators of the wiki.

Page Types

Different page types require different page formats. See the following examples:

General Guidelines

1. All articles must pertain to Golden Kamuy in some way.

2. The first instance of the page title should be bold. This should usually be in the first sentence of the article. No other instance of the page title should be bold. To make a word or phrase bold, place three apostrophes (') on each side. For example: bold. Bold print should usually be avoided for emphasis on other words. Instead, italic print (two apostrophes) is preferred.

3. Be sure to read the page and pages of a similar type before editing!

Formatting Guidelines

1. The first instance of an entity name on a page should always be linked, via double brackets (e.g. Asirpa). Further mentions in the same paragraph and sections should be left unlinked. When starting a new section (example: moving from a Synopsis to Plot the first instance of an entity should be linked there too.

2. Templates should be applied to the relevant section or, if the template applies to the entire article, applied to the top of the page. On pages with tabbers templates should be applied within the relevant tab.

3. All pages should be connected to a Category. If you do not know the Category of a page try looking at other pages of a similar type. Categories are written at the end of a pages source code. For the complete list of categories, see Special:Categories

4. Relevant pages should use Navboxes. These are generally placed at the end of articles except in the case of pages of extraordinary length. In this case Navboxes should be applied to the top of the page instead.

5. Ainu terms should be italized, as well as romanized Japanese words.

Standard Sections

Here is a simple rundown of sections an article can include.

1. The lead (or intro) section of a page should describe the article topic. For instance, for chapter, state its number and the volume it appears in (if it's already in tankobon format).

2. Sections beyond the intro should follow the section style of other pages of it's type or, failing that, should be descriptive of the information below it.

Writing

As this wiki's purpose is to document facts, you should generally avoid speculative and unsourced information. Information does not require sources if it can directly be seen in the manga or anime, or is generally obvious, but otherwise we do not discourage sourcing.

• The manga should be the preferred source of canon information.
• Articles should be written in the third-person perspective and without terms referential to the reader.
• To emphasize points, italics should be preferred. It is generally advised to not use bold. ALL CAPS is forbidden.
• In the articles, generally choose present tense instead of past tense. Article biographies of living characters should begin in the present tense; biographies of deceased ones should begin in the past tense.
• Walls of text in articles should be avoided where possible. Shorter paragraphs are easier to read and are more concise for readers of the wiki. Articles containing walls of text should be fixed to ensure readability.
• It's advised to follow the #EHScans (#EverydayHeroes) translation and terminology for the sake of continuity and accuracy.

Images and Files

Golden Kamuy Wiki hosts a number of images and files on its articles. To upload a file simply click on "Add New Image" on the navbar or, if you are here, follow this link.

• Screenshots of Golden Kamuy anime should be of the highest quality and resolution possible (generally, 1920 x 1080 px).
• Panels from the Golden Kamuy manga should not have visible English text on it, unless it's important for understanding the subject. Images from Japanese raws are permitted when used for Chapter infobox or Volumes pages.
• PNG format is preferred over JPG.

Naming

• Names of files should correlate to the subject of the image or file.
• For anime screenshots, use the name of the characters/items/places depicted and the number of episode they appear in. Example: Asirpa Episode 10.png
• For manga panels, use the name of the characters/items/places depicted and the number of chapter they appear in. Example: Sugimoto Ch05.png

Licensing and Categories

• All files should have an appropriate license attached. Please do not upload files that go against the Wiki's licensing!
• All images taken from the anime and manga must be licensed under Fair Use.
• Images should be categorized under the Images category.
